| | Welcome to WANDA LUMPKINS | | | i come from a long line of singers. i remember when i was five years old, i entertained the family with a song i learned to play and sing that day. i had seen the movie "mighty joe young." the song that was sung to him was "beautiful dreamer." i remembered some of the words, but the melody was complete in my heart. i went to my grandmother`s grand piano, which was kept in her foyer. all that day i practiced and after dinner that evening, i told everyone i wanted to sing them a song. i went to the piano, climbed up onto the bench and with my legs swinging back and forth (i couldn`t reach the peddles) i played and sang. they clapped and went back to their desert. (well, i guess at five i had a ways to go.) music is in my heart and i love seeing the expressions on people`s faces when i sing. i`m sort of like my family when i`m listening to myself, i think "no big deal," but when i see others` reactions to my singing, i`m reminded that gifts are anything but "no big deal." without leaving your space, music can take you places you`ve never been before. i hope you will try my latest CD. i suggest that you get in your favorite relaxing position, whether it`s taking a bath, reclining in your easy chair or preparing a special meal, and start the CD. i think by the time it`s over, you will have been transported. my love to you all. wanda. |
